Describe the setting,include location, time period, and socioeconomic characteristics.
The first setting in this book is in Germany at a base camp for kids who are training for the army. The characters are at a little lake and they are swimming during on of there brakes from training. The second setting is in Ohio at a school and then at one of the characters house.
The time period is right before World War II.
